Aromatherapy, Holistic & Indian Head Massage

Myriam Rees (ITEC Dip.)

Myriam is an ITEC qualified Massage practitioner, having first studied massage over fifteen years ago in Brighton. She has continued to pursue her diverse interests within the complementary health care field, and has completed three years’ study of Shiatsu and Oriental Medicine with Ki Kai Shiatsu College. She is now engaged in a post-graduate course in Movement Shiatsu, a more dynamic form of the art which incorporates stretches and yoga postures to strengthen the meridians.

Her personal maintenance programme includes regular yoga and Chi Qong practice, meditation, cycling and traditional boxing.

In addition to her private practice, Myriam is also a member of the Massage Therapy team at the Royal Free Hospital, giving Aromatherapy treatments on the wards.

Her clients come from all walks of life, including those who are basically healthy but feeling stressed, suffering from backache, muscular tension and tension headaches or migraine. Massage therapy and Shiatsu can be helpful with a wide range of conditions including low energy, ME, anxiety and depression, digestive and menstrual problems, asthma, sciatica, aching joints, limited joint mobility and frozen shoulder. Many enjoy massage as part of their on-going self-maintenance programme, typically on a 4-6 week basis, and others will come more regularly for fixed periods to address a specific complaint or needing a little extra support to help them through difficult life transitions.
